DEMETRIUS MILLNER

Demetrius was using combs and brushes to make beats before he could even talk…

Building upon these natural abilities throughout his school years in North Philadelphia, he sought refuge from his surroundings on his drum kit - conveniently located in the middle of his mother’s living room.

Demetrius’ infectious personality and soothing demeanor allow him to create and sustain great working relationships throughout the lifetime of his projects. His natural ability to adapt and conform his personality to any piece of music make him invaluable to any project he is involved with. Demetrius has MANY influences from a wide range of music genres such as, Classic Rock, Gospel, Classical, Pop, R&B, Motown and Country. Inspiration comes in many forms and there are various artists that have helped mold him into the musician that he is today… Artists such as: Steve Smith, Dennis Chamber, Chad Smith, Dave Weckl, Carter Beauford, Phil Collins… (YES there are others – but we are trying to keep this short…)

Demetrius is currently a member of the Mighty OV (Original Band – Philadelphia) and For Who For What(Cover Band - Philadelphia). He is also a staff musician for D.Lynch Productions.

In summary -

Demetrius is an amazing musician.

Interestingly enough, he does not like watermelon, nor does he care for brown liquor of any kind. In his spare time you can find him reciting dialog (verbatim) to every episode of Star Trek The Next Generation, taking long drives on the open road with his co-pilot, using his wife as a pseudo drum (in the most affectionate way possible) and leaping from tall buildings in one single bound.

OFF THE HOOK.

I just LOVE it when a plan comes together…

After months of

planning…

focusing…

coordinating… The OFF THE CLOCK event, I can officially say that it was off the hook. No joke. Not a biased opinion…

Just the truth.

This event has always held a dear place in my heart and it was mu ‘triumphant’ return to PhilaNOMA. Hopefully this event was branded and will become a staple for years to come :)

It had everything.. everyone.. Especially the people I love the most (actually one of them was not in attendance due to illness, but they were with me in spirit)…

I would like to give a special THANKS to Nancy Churchville +

The Mighty OV +

Mike Spain (for being super awesome with the Sketchbook Meetups)

Joshua Black  (for the awesome letters) +

Joel Avery (for the photography) +

Triumph Brewery (for their hospitality) +

PhilaNOMA for welcoming me back.
